Ohmygod. I got goosebumps when I heard the announcement.

After almost a decade of waiting for the next installment of the game, the long wait is finally over.

StarCraft 2 was officially announced by Blizzard today at the World Wide Invitational event at South Korea, the number 1 StarCraft country.

StarCraft was one of the best-selling computer games when it was released in 1998. It was so friggin good that it fast developed a cult-following worldwide. Heck, StarCraft introduced me to multiplayer games.. I’d play with my classmates over modem and even tried my hand at BattleNet. Ah, the memories…

When news about Blizzard making an announcement at the WWI event, people started talk about the announcement being the release of StarCraft2… but since rumors have been around for years we never really can tell. EVERY YEAR, there seems to be a rumor or even some sort of trailer or wallpaper that would come out… but nothing was official. They were all fan-made hoaxes. This time, it’s real. WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Check out the Official Trailer:

Expected release date: sometime 2008, ten years after the initial release of the original StarCraft.

To further strengthen how nerdox our family really is, we bought board games. My sister and I stopped by Hobbes & Landes at Greenhills and spent close to Php.4,000 on board games.

We spent about 45 minutes in the tiny store looking at board games. Yes, I know. Nerdy.

Not just any Prince.

Instead of playing Bahay-bahayan or Piko with my playmates, I spent hours with my Prince of Persia.

Prince of Persia (1989) Prince of Persia (POP) certainly brings back childhood memories. It has a special part in my tiny cold metal heart. I remember back in the early 90s, I would go with my dad to the office on weekends just so I can play all day. At that moment I think he realized that I would be addicted to games till I grow old. He was right. (more…)

Despite the buildup and hype around its arrival in November, the PS3 has been outsold so far — at a rate of almost 2-to-1 — by the Nintendo Wii, according to USA Today. In February, the Wii was the top-selling console video game system with an estimated 335,000 sold, outpacing the Microsoft Xbox 360 (228,000) and the PS3 (127,000), according to The NPD Group.

Check out this video I found online. It’s just waaay too great (and too funny) not to share with as many people as possible. The song is called “How to Kill a Brand” by Doc Adams, a parody sung to the tune of “How to Save a Life” by Fray. It sums up perfectly why the I’m not at all excited with the PS3. (more…)
