You Shouldn’t Piss Off Potential Clients April 11, 2007

Posted by Me in Ohmygod Moments, Ramblings, Technology.

As I said in my last post, I am looking to hire a SEO Specialist locally. So as usual, I google and join relevant forums, make a small email blast and bug people in my YM:

Do you know any SEO specialists in the Philippines? I have a challenging project… will probably look great on your list of clientele too.

Though it has been around for years, not many people are familiar with SEO or Search Engine Optimization. I’ve even had techie people (programmers, web designers) ask me what it is. Sheesh. If I had time, I’d be getting into this thing.. but I digress, I shall talk about that in another post.

Anyway, we’ve met with a few people into SEO but since this is a new thing for us my boss wants to meet with several more people and pick the one we’re comfortable working with.

Personally, I think this project is a great opportunity to show how talented good you really are. And with that in mind, I’ve been asking people in my YM for recommendations… then there was Mike. (more…)

Waking Being woken up at 4AM and driving is not healthy for me. Argh.

Mom woke me up at 4AM to tell me I had to pick my sister up from work. Oh JUST GREAT. I don’t like waking up early and I don’t like driving. What a combination.

Got back home at around 5:40AM. Pissed and Wide Awake.

Good Friday. How ironic.

What’s the Hype Over These Overpriced Flip Flops? March 29, 2007

Havaianas. Another one of those dumb fads. What is the hype over these overpriced flip flops anyway?

Nine hundred bucks for a pair of rubber slippers? They’re not even that pretty! I didn’t have a shoegasm (slippergasm?) when I saw one. Filipinos (or should I say Filipinas?) are going agog over these expensive, overhyped flip flops especially since its Summer already. Since their arrival in the Philippines, Havaianas now have an unprecedented cult following.. fan girls over at GirlTalk call themselves Havies. Ick. The pricey ridiculously expensive slippers were actually considered a status symbol (still is now) in a country where slippers or tsinelas come in cheap: you can buy one at the local market for fifty bucks. High School Memories March 27, 2007

I barely remember my high school life. It was so uneventful that I can’t even pull out anecdotes or funny stories from my memory bank. Or maybe it was just too horrible that my mind blanks out everytime I try to remember haha.

Yes, I was the boring girl that kept to herself. I wrote for the school paper, joined the Computer Club, and the oh-so-exciting Book Lovers Club (God, I can’t believe I just admitted this publicly). Well, no one can get more boring than that. On the day I become President of the World and they write about my life, my high school life would be left out because it would be the most boring chapter. It would probably consist of one page just so that they can write about factual details like where I went to school and who my seatmates were (if they can even confirm that they were my seatmates).

So do I have embarrassing pictures and videos out there? Hmmmm… (more…)

I was about to write about How You Can Tell If Your Man is a Scumbag but apparently someone beat me to it. It’s a little bit different but this article certainly kicks ass. Written in October 2005 by Nathan Degraaf for Points In Case. I found this article pretty entertaining and I’m sure you will too. Enjoy. 🙂 (more…)

Road Rage is a Mental Disorder (a.k.a. Chie is a Psycho) March 24, 2007

Posted by Me in Ramblings, Road Rage.

I had a pretty bad morning today because of a road rage incident so when I got home, I googled road rage and got this:

LiveScience article published in June 2006.

To you, that angry, horn-blasting tailgater is suffering from road rage. But doctors have another name for it—intermittent explosive disorder—and a new study suggests it is far more common than they realized, affecting up to 16 million Americans.

Intermittent explosive disorder (IED) or Militant episode disorder (MED) is an uncommon disorder of the brain characterized by explosive outbursts of behaviour (throwing, breaking things, inflicting physical harm on others – that’s me alright) that is disproportional to the provocation. It is an impulse control disorder. It is sometimes linked to temporal lobe epilepsy. It has also been suggested by studies as the underlying cause of ROAD RAGE.

I guess it’s official: US Scientists have declared that I’m mentally ill. (more…)

At nine, I was in love with a Prince. March 23, 2007

Not just any Prince.

Instead of playing Bahay-bahayan or Piko with my playmates, I spent hours with my Prince of Persia.

Prince of Persia (1989) Prince of Persia (POP) certainly brings back childhood memories. It has a special part in my tiny cold metal heart. I remember back in the early 90s, I would go with my dad to the office on weekends just so I can play all day. At that moment I think he realized that I would be addicted to games till I grow old. He was right. (more…)

Why Richard Gomez and Cesar Montano Will Become Senators March 21, 2007

Underwear models in the Philippine Senate. What has the world come to?

Philippine Senate

Several years ago, politicians would bring along hot models and celebrities in their roadshows to bring the crowds in. In recent years however, that trend has been declining. The tables have turned. Movie actors/actresses are getting into politics. Politicians are going into movies. What a bunch of dumb fucks.

Richard Gomez and Cesar Montano have both filed for candidacy last month much to the delight of the masses. Though they didn’t file on the same day, it was quite embarrassing hearing about Comelec and government employees going gaga over the two actors when they arrived at the office to file their Certificate of Candidacy.
