Genji @ Greenhills April 14, 2007

I can’t believe my sister and I hung out in Greenhills the whole day. It may not be that unusual if we actually stayed there the entire time but note that we went there separately in the morning (I had breakfast with my brother and she with her client), met up while they were doing a little shopping, went all the way home to Antipolo, and then went back to Greenhills again for dinner.

Initially my sister wanted to eat at Teriyaki Boy at the Promenade because she was craving for Kani Salad but since there was a long wait, we decided to just walk around and look for another Jap place. We saw Tokyo Tokyo after a bit of walking but they were just too fastfood-y for our taste. We kept walking and after a while we just felt too hungry to be picky. We saw Italianni’s (at the Carpark building) and headed towards that direction. Italianni’s was twenty steps away when she suddenly stops near the elevator and stares at a banner. There’s a promising Japanese restaurant at the 2nd floor. GREAT!

The staff opened the doors and we were led to custom-built Japanese style wooden booth. Hmmm. Very promising indeed. (more…)

Miss Desserts @ Serendra April 13, 2007

Serendra is one of our (office-mates) fave lunch places. Good food, good place, available parking. It was the usual Friday lunch-out and this time we finally got to try Miss Desserts.

We’ve been craving for Miss Desserts for months but we never seem to catch it open. As with most of the places at Serendra, Miss Dessert opens after lunch. While we were contemplating on where to get dessert, I suggested that we try and pass by Miss Dessert and see if it’s open and luckily, it is! No Friday-the-thirteenth bad luck for me! Hehe.

Ever since I saw that a newspaper article talking about Miss Desserts proudly hung on the outside window, I knew I had to check them out. Situated right beside the famous Cupcakes by Sonja, Miss Desserts had serious competition. It wouldn’t be a surprise if most people that walk into Miss Desserts are people who wanted to get Sonja’s cupcakes but are turned off by the long line. Will they disappoint or will they give you that orgasmic sugar rush that will surely make you return for more?

Conti's Pastry Shop & Restaurant @ Serendra, Fort

Okay, so I gave Conti’s a second chance. My first visit was so horrible that I just couldn’t stop myself from trashing the place in my first post here.

A week after my first visit at Conti’s Pastry Shop & Restaurant, I went back with the same group of people and we crossed our fingers and prayed that we won’t be served by Marge Marj. (more…)

At nine, I was in love with a Prince. March 23, 2007

Not just any Prince.

Instead of playing Bahay-bahayan or Piko with my playmates, I spent hours with my Prince of Persia.

Prince of Persia (1989) Prince of Persia (POP) certainly brings back childhood memories. It has a special part in my tiny cold metal heart. I remember back in the early 90s, I would go with my dad to the office on weekends just so I can play all day. At that moment I think he realized that I would be addicted to games till I grow old. He was right. (more…)

Yep, you read it right. Men’s Pantiliners. Love Moon proudly announces that they’ve created the first sanitary pad for men. It is made up of high grade pure cotton with a patented negative ion chip inlaid in the cotton for the prevention and relief of genital diseases! This is GREAT news! For you guys out there, you wouldn’t have to worry about a thing.. your special buddy will be safely nestled in negative ions that will regularize blood circulation (we all know that all that jacking off has increased your blood pressure).

As I was blog hopping, I came across this satirical parody of Wikipedia.

According to Wikipedia:

Uncyclopedia logoUncyclopedia, “the content-free encyclopedia that anyone can edit,” is a satirical parody of Wikipedia. The site was launched in January 2005 by Jonathan Huang and an unnamed counterpart. The Uncyclopedia logo is a hollow potato named Sophia, a parody of Wikipedia’s globe logo.

After gym, my sister and I had to make a stop at Robinson’s Galleria for a few errands. We saw a Teriyaki Boy poster and immediately made a bee line for it… lunch at around 2:30PM. (more…)

One thing that I cannot tolerate is service that is slow, inefficient, or rude. I can overlook this a few times because anyone can have a bad day. It has to be really egregious or repearted on many occasions before I’d put the restaurant on my “do not visit” list. My first time visit at Conti’s Pastry Shop and Restaurant at Serendra, Fort was a bit of a disappointment and it has definitely gained a minus point on my list.

The famed Conti’s has finally opened up a branch at Serendra recently and my officemates and I went out for lunch last today, to check it out. They’re known for their cakes and regular meals with cakes ranging between Php. 70 to Php.100++ and meals ranging between Php.140 to Php.300. A little pricey and on the upscale side but my officemates assured me that the cakes are to die for.
